A large regional art show is getting underway this month at Kamloops’ Old Courthouse Gallery.
The Spring into Art exhibition will showcase artwork from artists in the Shuswap, Kamloops and the Okanagan from April 8-19.
It is organized by the Thompson Nicola Shuswap Charter (TSNC) of the Federation of Canadian Artists, which has over 60 local members.
There will be a wide variety of artworks, genres, mediums and subject matter, a news release says.
There will also be opportunities for residents to watch live demonstrations.
Additionally, there will be a chance to vote for three People’s Choice Awards.
Three top awards and three honourable mentions will also be handed out during the exhibition.
Anyone interested in viewing the art exhibit can stop by the gallery located at 7 Seymour Street West, Tuesday to Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm.
The TNSC is a non-profit chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists that provides opportunities for artistic growth, development and accreditation for local artists.
That includes hosting workshops with professional artists, juried shows, critiques, demonstration, guest speakers and fostering a fellowship among artists.
