Report of man screaming inside Kamloops house turns into assault investigation

A disturbance report escalated into a weapons report on Monday, says the Kamloops RCMP.

At about 7:45 am on April 29, officers were called to an address on the 1600-block of Lac Le Jeune Road, where a man could allegedly be heard screaming inside a residence.

While police were heading to the scene, they received additional information that indicated an assault had occurred, allegedly involving weapons.

“On scene, two people were transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, in a news release..

“At this time, the incident appears to be targeted and the general public is not believed to be at risk.”

An investigation is ongoing with help from the General Investigations, Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services and frontline officers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000.
