In less than 20 days, two beloved annual events will be taking over the downtown core, bringing fun, food and entertainment for the entire community.
Kamloops’ Daybreak Rotary is happy to announce the return of the 2023 Ribfest.
From Friday, Aug. 11 to Sunday, Aug. 13, people can stop by Riverside Park to enjoy some tasty food, great local entertainment, the family fun zone and a raffle contest.
The raffle includes great prizes like groceries for a year from Save-On Foods, a WestJet gift card valued at $2,900, family passes to the TCC, YMCA, Sunpeaks and more.
People will be able to taste an array of delicious barbecue prepared by six champion ribbers: Boss Hog’s, Gator BBQ, House of Q, Grizzly BBQ, Prairie Smoke and Spice and Smoke Dem Bones BBQ.
The family-friendly, free event kicks off every day at 11 am and will run until 10 pm.
The good times don’t stop at Riverside, be sure to take a stroll over to Victoria Street to check out the 29th annual Hot Nite in the City.
Six city blocks of downtown Kamloops will be closed off to make way for street rods, custom makes, classic American muscle, foreign cars, motorcycles, live music and various vendors.
In addition, there will be an annual poker run and truck light show on Friday, Aug. 11.
The big day will happen Saturday, Aug. 12 and will feature the highly anticipated show and shine from 9 am to 3:30 pm.
Awards will be handed out at the end of the show at the corner of 4th and Victoria.
For the first time event, organizers will be hosting a first annual Hot Nite Swap Meet on Sunday, Aug. 13. More details will be announced on the event’s schedule.
