Residents should be aware that construction near Westsyde Secondary School is scheduled to begin on Monday.
Starting June 13, Bebek Road will be closed between Westsyde Road and the Westsyde pool entrance.
A detour will be in place via Puhallo Drive to Pine Springs Road to Bebek Road. However, pedestrian access will be maintained.
Work is scheduled Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
The City of Kamloops expects the work to be completed by October.
Crews will be upgrading utilities, roads and sidewalks in the area. Some of the work will include:
installation of new water services and new water main
upgrades to drainage infrastructure
installation of new sidewalk on north side
installation of full pedestrian signals at the Bebek Road and Westsyde Road intersection; and road reconstruction.
Driveway access will be temporarily restricted at times during construction and residents are advised that off-street parking may not be accessible at all times.
Garbage collection will not be affected.
