Today is the last day you can drop off warm winter clothes at the Salvation Army to support people in need.
Anyone who is looking to donate warm, gently used winter coats, hats, mitts and scarves can stop by the Salvation Army between 9 am and 4 pm.
The Salvation Army is located at 344 Poplar Street.
Can’t make the final day of donations?
That’s okay because two other organizations, The Stir and Kamloops Community Meal Train, will be holding a clothing drive for the entire month of November.
Donations will be accepted from Nov. 1-30.
The Stir, located at 185 Royal Avenue, will have a drop off area out front their location where people can donate clean, gently used coats, hats, boots, scarves and gloves.
“Please place items in the designated area to make it easier for those accessing the items, and program organizers, to get what they need,” organizers say.
“Individuals in need of winter clothing can access the donated items 24/7 in our Pubic Parklet.”
Additionally, Glenn Hke with the Kamloops community Meal Train will be helping distribute donated items across the city.
The Kamloops Meal Train started in 2020 as a way to get meals to the homeless and others facing food insecurity.
