The 43rd annual Santa Claus Parade is set to take over the streets of downtown Kamloops this weekend.
This year, the parade is set to begin at 4 pm on Sunday.
Before the parade kicks off, there will be a variety of festive activities happening in the downtown core.
That includes carols, cookies, coffee and hot chocolate at the Paramount Theatre beginning at 1:30 pm followed by a free screening of Jingle All The Way at 2 pm.
For those looking for something else to do, there is a live performance by Jeremy Kneeshaw from 2:30-3:30 pm outside the Vic Coffee Shop.
Starting at 3:40 pm, the community is invited to the cheeky Wake Up Santa event before the show gets on the road.
This year’s route will head north on 2nd Avenue from St. Paul Street to Victoria Street, east on Victoria towards 6th Avenue.
As a result of all these Christmas-themed activities, there will be a few road closures in place on Sunday from 8 am until 6 pm.
The Lansdowne transit exchange will be temporarily relocated to St. Paul Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue from 3-6 pm.
For those who can’t make it downtown, the parade will be livestreamed on the Downtown Kamloops Facebook and YouTube pages.
