You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, and Cupid, and Donner, and Blitzen, but do you recall that the Kamloops Santa Claus Parade is this Sunday?
Get ready to shake your belly like a bowl full of jelly because this year's parade is set to be the best yet. Rather than the traditional morning start, Sunday's event is set to take place at 4 pm.
Presented by Thompson Rivers University, the parade's theme this year is "Power of the Community." According to Downtown Kamloops, over 10,000 residents are expected to take in nearly 50 beautifully decorated floats.
The best part about the parade is that it's a free event with many giveaways. Festivities kick off at 3:15 pm when Kris Kringle arrives at Kamloops Square, then the parade goes at 4 pm, and everything "wraps" up at 6:15 pm with the lighting of a Christmas tree at St. Andrews on the Square.
The parade route starts in Downtown Kamloops at 2nd Avenue and ends at 6th Avenue. Spectators will not be allowed in the 600 block of Victoria Street as vehicles will be using there to turn.
