Kamloops residents should be aware that this Sunday is Free Landfill Day at the Mission Flats Landfill.
Free Landfill Day allows residents to bring excess trash and recycling to the dump at no cost. The goal is to get residents to bring in items such as plastic materials which you can't just throw in an everyday recycling container.
Free landfill day is at Mission Flats Landfill on April 7. Did you know, many items are free to recycle any time of the year, such as household paint and aerosols, light bulbs, small appliances, and more. For a full list of items, visit https://t.co/2kwMjco0ls

Free landfill items that can be recycled include household paint and aerosols, flammable liquids, domestic pesticides, gasoline, light bulbs, fixtures, electronics, small appliances, batteries, plastic bags, glass, and more.
Residents should remember that when bringing in recyclables, they need to be kept loose, flattened, shredded, emptied, and washed depending on what is brought.
