It was a bittersweet Saturday morning for the BC Wildlife Park and the Fawcett Family Wildlife Health Centre last weekend as they had to say goodbye to an animal they'd grown very close too.
Together, the two groups released a red-tailed hawk who broke its wing months ago.
The hawk had been at the health centre since March, but thanks to veterinarians and staff, it has a new "lease on life."
"Look who has been released and offered a new lease on life," wrote the park in a Facebook post. "This hawk took to the skies like a pro after a few months of immobilization, physical therapy, and flight conditioning!"
Though they said goodbye to the hawk, the park still has bobcats, polar bears, and otters all looking to have a good time.
