(UPDATE: Feb. 10 @ 10:50 am) - A delivery driver who was caught on camera throwing a Kamloops man's package over 30 feet onto his concrete front steps has been fired.
Intelcom told KamloopsNow on Tuesday that an investigation was underway into the driver's conduct, but a decision has now been made.
"We have met with the delivery partner responsible for this driver and it has been agreed that the driver will not be delivering packages for Intelcom anymore," the company told KamloopsNow via email.
"We aim at offering consumers the most reliable home delivery service that meets their needs and this type of behavior is definitely not aligned with Intelcom mission."
The driver found himself in hot water after a front-yard camera caught him throwing a package with electronics inside across a front lawn and onto a local man's front steps.
The contents of the package were damaged and the man now has to wait at least two weeks for a replacement package.
He also alleges that the delivery driver did the exact same thing at his next-door neighbour's house, but it wasn't caught on camera.
(Original story: Feb. 9 @ 3:50 pm) - A Kamloops resident is unhappy that he’s now going to have to wait two extra weeks to get the electronic products that he purchased from Amazon.
They were supposed to arrive on Monday, and they did, but they were subsequently damaged by what can only be described as a careless delivery driver.
According to Adrien Dobson, the driver showed up at his house shortly after 2 pm on Monday, opened his car door and threw the package more than 30 feet across his lawn.

Video from his front-yard camera got the whole ordeal on video and shows the package landing on his concrete doorstep.
Dobson said the driver then proceeded to do the exact same thing for his neighbour’s package, which wasn’t caught on video but witnessed first-hand by his wife.
“I immediately called Amazon to report the driver,” explained Dobson. “Amazon put me on conference with Intelcom who was very unapologetic (and) basically said ‘oh well, return it.’”
He’s submitted an exchange, since the product was electronics and did get damaged by the throw, but now he’s left waiting another two weeks for a new package to arrive.
As mentioned by Dobson, the package was delivered by Intelcom, who responded to an email request for comment by KamloopsNow.
“This situation doesn’t meet our standards and isn’t acceptable, both in terms of delivery experience and customer support,” a representative said.
“We are sorry for how the customer got his package delivered and for the difficulties he faced when contacting our customer support team. This is definitely not the level of service we wish to offer.”
Intelcom says it's currently investigating this situation and can provide a more detailed answer once that investigation is completed.
