Wanted Kamloops man arrested after cutting down trees on McArthur Island

A man who was allegedly cutting trees down and setting up a camp on McArthur Island has been arrested and held in custody.

According to the Kamloops RCMP, officers received the report on May 19.

When officers attended the scene, they discovered the man was wanted on an unendorsed warrant for assault causing bodily harm.

He was held for a bail hearing, during which he was remanded in custody until this next court appearance, a news release says.

The release did not indicate when the man’s court date would be.
