The 2022 BC School Sports 2A Boys Basketball Provincial Tournament draw was held Sunday afternoon and the Westsyde Whundas found themselves in the top tier of teams. The Whundas head to the Langley Event Centre this week as the 4th ranked team in BC.
The Whundas are coming off a dominating performance in the Valley Championships and hope to carry that momentum into the Provincial Tournament. Game tip-off is on Wednesday and the draw starts with the #1 ranked King George Dragons hosting the #16 ranked Samuel Robertson Technical Titans. The top four are rounded out by #2 Lambrick Park and #3 Brentwood College, who carried the #1 spot for most of the season.
The Whundas start their quest against the #13 ranked J.L Crowe Hawks from Trail. The team knows these games will put them to the test and they are ready for the challenge. The Whundas pride themselves on playing a fast-paced game on both ends of the court and hope this style can result in a provincial championship. King George is the clear favourites but the Whundas come in as one of the hottest teams in the province. There’s lots of excitement and enthusiasm and the team can’t wait to get started.
