Spring is here and that means another season of the Kamloops Farmers’ Market.
This marks the 48th season of the outdoor market and it is sure to have something for everyone.
The market returns on Saturday April 19 and will run every week, rain or shine, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm until the end of October.
The market will be set up on St. Paul Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue.
“Vendor interest has been strong for the outdoor market this year, with many returning faces and several new ones as well,” say organizers. “We anticipate a solid showing in all of our major vendor categories – farmers, prepared food, artisans and crafters.”
People can expect fresh vegetables, a variety of meats from local farmers, fresh eggs, cheese, ready-to-eat foods and beverages, jams, pickles and preserves, local honey and lots of fresh baking.
There will also be fresh herbs, flowers and hanging baskets, potted plants, bedding plants, starter plants and seeds.
Local artisans will also be providing soaps, body care products, fabric arts, paintings and hand-crafted jewelry.
The City of Kamloops along with Tourism Kamloops will be offering pop-up valet service from May until Labour Day weekend.
There are still a few more weeks to go until the mid-week markets on Wednesdays return.
That will resume on May 7 and will run from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm in the 400-block of Victoria Street.
Organizers note that the first few weeks the market will be set up on the sidewalk adjacent to the TNRD Building, and shifting to on the street on June 18.
