With Country Music Week coming to Kelowna later this year, the city’s biggest music festival will be switching things up to be a part of the fun.
Typically a three-day festival held at City Park over Labour Day weekend, Denim on the Diamond will instead be held two weeks later at another popular local park.
Denim 2025 will be a two-day outdoor music event during Country Music Week, on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13, a few hundred metres north at picturesque Waterfront Park.
The special country collaboration will feature performances centred around the Island Stage, which is currently undergoing a significant renovation.
Thick as Thieves Entertainment, the local production company behind Denim, will be one of the first to debut the new stage when they host Kelowna’s first Rosé Disco on July 19.
In a release, the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) says Denim 2025 will bring its “signature energy and community spirit to this special two-day event.”
“Fans can look forward to a dynamic mix of talented country artists, all just steps away from the heart of downtown Kelowna,” the release adds.
Country Music Week, which is coming to Kelowna for the first time, will kick off on Wednesday, Sept. 10, and wrap up with the 2025 CCMA Awards at Prospera Place on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The CCMA promises “four unforgettable days of music, community and celebration,” which will include Denim 2025 at Waterfront Park.
Ticket information for the special CCMA and Denim collaboration will be made available soon and fans are encouraged to sign up online for updates in the meantime.
