Beer lovers from across the Central Okanagan and BC Interior will be saddened to hear they will have to wait another year for the return of the Great Okanagan Beer Festival.
Organizers announced Tuesday that the festival will not be moving forward for 2023.
“Due to the current economic and societal climate, we are extremely saddened to announce that the Great Okanagan Beer festival, presented by The Train Station Pub, will not be moving forward for 2023,” states a social media post for the organizers.
“This decision was not easy for us, and many factors and options were heavily considered before coming to this conclusion.”
This is the fourth time the festival has been cancelled with the 2022 event being cancelled in February.
At that time, organizers said the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions in BC that were put in place around Christmas created too tight of a timeline to plan the event at full capacity.
“We appreciate all your support as we have navigated challenging conditions over the past few years. We want to extend a huge thank you to all the breweries, partners, community members, and our fans,” states the organizers.
