Those who were disappointed that Nate Smith was forced to drop out of the Denim on the Diamond lineup will have another chance to see him in Kelowna soon.
The country artist was meant to headline Denim at Kings Stadium over the Labour Day long weekend before wildfires forced the postponement of the music festival.
When it was rescheduled for the Thanksgiving long weekend, Smith was unable to make the new dates and was replaced on the bill by Ernest.
Ernest put on a fantastic show and wowed the crowd at City Park, but there were fans who were understandably disappointed that they were unable to see Smith in person.
Well they won’t have to wait too long to get another chance to see him, as Smith has announced a Kelowna stop as part of his World On Fire Tour in early 2024.
He’ll play the Kelowna Community Theatre on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024, with tickets going on sale later this week.
Smith burst onto the country music scene shortly after losing everything he owned in the Camp Fire, a 2018 wildfire that tore through his hometown of Paradise, California.
The tragedy, now known as the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in the state’s history, inspired him to turn to music and write his breakout song “One of These Days.”
He followed it up with the song “Wildfire,” which gained him a large following after going viral on TikTok.
In the last two years, Smith has released his first full studio album and his No. 1 on the country radio charts with the tune “Whiskey on You.”
Tickets to see Smith live in Kelowna in February will go on sale through Live Nation at 10 am on Friday, Oct. 20.
