Sleepover at this spectacular Italian-style mansion for $2,000 a night

For $2,000 a night, you too can cavort in the lap of luxury.

We're talking a 9,000-square-foot Italian-style mansion with Italian-marble fountain in the courtyard, surrounded by vineyards and orchards, with sumptuous living and sleeping spaces, chef's kitchen, solar-heated kidney-shaped swimming pool and 30-foot-tall entry hall with Swarovski crystal chandelier.

You can even arrive by helicopter, because, of course, this swanky property has a heli-pad.

It's the Okanagan Villa Estate of the owners of Vibrant Vine Winery at 3240 Pooley Rd. in East Kelowna.

</who>The Okanagan Villa Estate at Vibrant Vine Winery is a sprawling 9,000 square feet.

The winery, including 11.3 acres of land and the ritzy villa, is up for sale for $13.5 million.

"Before it sells, we decided to put the house up for overnight rentals. It's too big for the two of us now," said Wyn Lewis, who owns Vibrant Vine with his wife, Marion.

</who>Due to city rules, overnight guests only get access to three of the villa's bedrooms.

For years, the exterior courtyard of the mansion has been rented out as a fabulous venue for wedding ceremonies and outdoor receptions.

But, the wedding party and guests didn't have access to the huge and stylish inside because Wyn and Marion were living there.

"Now, the bride and groom have a place to stay, the night before the wedding, the night of the wedding or whenever they want," said Wyn.

"We joke that because there are three bedrooms, the bride and groom can have one and the two sets of in-laws can also have their own room."

Rentals aren't just available to wedding parties, but anyone who wants a bougie stay at a winery (and can afford the $2,000-a-night price tag).

While the villa has many bedrooms, rentals only have access to three of them due to City of Kelowna licensing restrictions for short-term overnight rentals.

But guests do have access to the living room, dining room, kitchen and pool.

The villa will become available for nightly stays Aug. 1 with bookings handled by Keys to Kelowna Properties, www.keystokelowna.com, which handles a small and exclusive portfolio of limited-edition, luxury vacation home rentals.

Vibrant Vine Winery, including the villa, went up for sale as a package in March for $13.5 million.

The listing gained lots of attention for its scope and price and the fact that Vibrant Vine is the only 3D winery in the world.

That means wine bottles have psychedelic shrink-wrap labels that come alive when you don 3D glasses.

3D glasses also make the art and interior of the tasting room groovy.

Good wine and the quirky atmosphere helped Vibrant Vine become the No. 1 rated winery in BC on TripAdvisor.

</who>Marion and Wyn Lewis are selling Vibrant Vine Winery, including the Italian-style mansion for $13.5 million.

Wyn and Marion decided to list the whole property for sale after Wyn was diagnosed with cancer in October 2022.

Wyn had the tumor removed and went into remission.

The couple then reconsidered selling the winery and their home.

But, Wyn's cancer has come back, so they are sticking with their decision to sell so they can live in a smaller place, spend more time with their grandkids and do some travelling.

After seven years of hosting Phantom of the Villa theatre performances and events in the villa's courtyard for 300 people a night, the Vibrant Vine is switching gears for this summer.

On July 20, 21 and 22, 'Here, The People Sing' will be staged in the courtyard for a crowd of 300 per night.

For licensing reasons, the name of the famous musical the show is based on can't be mentioned.

But, it is set in 19th century French rebellion and is based on the novel by Victor Hugo.

"This will be the last big concert we put on," said Wyn.

"It will be special for that reason and also because Marion and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary on July 21."

Tickets to 'Here, The People Sing' are $105 at www.thevibrantvine.com.

Wyn has also recently decided to donate partial proceeds from every bottle of Vibrant Vines' Okanagan Villa Estate sparkling wine to the BC Cancer Society.

"Sparkling is usually a celebratory drink and I want people who are opening a bottle to celebrate their health and know the money is going to a good cause," he said.
