Michael Prechel of Prechel CPA, recently shared his thoughts on the growing impact of AI on businesses, particularly in the Okanagan region, as well as his excitement for the upcoming Level Up AI Summit. As a key sponsor of the event, Prechel highlighted the summit’s importance, saying, "It's going to be one of those events that people are either glad they went to or regret missing." He emphasized how AI is quickly becoming a crucial tool for businesses of all sizes.
Prechel, who attended the 2019 conference, noted how much AI has advanced since then. He emphasized the need for businesses to embrace AI sooner rather than later. "If they don't start adopting it now, there's a chance they could be left behind," Prechel cautioned. He shared insights on how his firm stays ahead by focusing on future growth and adapting to the evolving tax code.
AI is already influencing a variety of industries, from accounting to agriculture. Prechel mentioned a local company, Forag, that has transformed from mushroom farming to robotics, using AI to perfect their harvesting process. "AI is hitting every industry," he said. "Whether you're an accounting firm or a mushroom grower, it's crucial to stay on top of it."
The conversation also touched on the importance of using AI wisely in business strategy. Prechel noted, "It's not humans versus AI—it's humans versus humans using AI." He encouraged local entrepreneurs to attend the summit and explore how AI could help them grow their businesses and stay competitive.
