Last week it was announced that Kamloops’ Dan De Palma had been chosen to represent Canada at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championship – and we now know there will be a familiar face alongside the Blazers goaltending coach.
Joining De Palma on the international stage is Kamloops Blazers defenceman Harrison Brunicke.
This will be Brunicke’s first time representing Canada at the international level after finishing this past season with 10 goals and 21 points in 49 games.
The event gets underway April 25 and runs until May 5 in Finland.
To add the cherry on top for Brunicke, the NHL Central Scouting’s final rankings were released earlier this week and the Calgary native moved up to 52nd overall.
Joining the Kamloops Blazer on the list are three prospects from the United States: Austin Burnevick (113th), Kaden Shahan (115th) and Mac Swanson (152nd).
