The trade was announced on Wednesday and sees the Blazers receiving a 2024 third-round pick and a conditional sixth-round pick.

Kamloops will also receive a conditional 2025 second-round pick and a 2026 second-round selection.

Going to Portland is the rights to 2004-born defenceman Tyson Jugnauth.

The former West Kelowna Warrior is in his second season playing for the University of Wisconsin in the NCAA.

In 32 NCAA games last season, Jugnauth accumulated five goals and 10 assists.

The Seattle Kraken drafted Jugnauth in the 2022 NHL Draft and he remains unsigned by the team.

The Blazers are back in action on Friday as they begin their road trip with an evening matchup against the Regina Pats.
