The Kamloops Blazers are on the road this weekend and they will have a new captain to lead their squad.
The team announced Friday morning that Emmitt Finnie will captain the club after spending last season as an alternate captain.
Finnie is the 38th captain in team history and he recently returned to the Blazers after spending time with the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings.
The 19-year-old is in his fourth season with the Blazers and tallied 19 goals and 40 assists last season.
Ryan Michael, Jordan Keller and Harrison Brunicke will join Finnie on the team’s leadership group as alternate captains for the 2024-25 season.
The Blazers take on Vancouver Giants tonight and the Wenatchee Wild on Sunday.
Kamloops is back home on Oct. 15 against the Prince Albert Raiders.
