The Kamloops Blazers announced today that Aaron Keller has been promoted to director of player personnel.
The move comes as Robbie Sandland, Blazers assistant GM and director of player personnel, departs the organization to join the Pittsburgh Penguins as an amateur scout.

Keller is well-known in the Blazers organization as he played for the team in the early 90s and was a member of the 1994 and 1995 Memorial Cup winning teams.
After his time in the WHL, Keller went on to play professionally in Japan for 17 years, including representing Japan at eight world championships.
Keller then spent three years as an assistant coach with the Oji Eagles in Japan before returning to Kamloops in 2017.
Since his return, Keller was the technical director of the Kamloops Minor Hockey Association for four years and has also been a development coach for the Blazers.
Scott Blakeney has been promoted to senior head scout for BC, and Brad Davis has been hired as head scout for Manitoba.
This will be Blakeney’s fifth year with the Blazers, and Davis joins the team after spending the last 16 years with the Portland Winterhawks.
Training camp for the Blazers begins Thursday, with on-ice sessions running from Friday to Monday.
There will be a total of 76 players participating in training camp from the 2003-08 born age groups.
