In 34 games played this season, he had nine goals and 30 assists. In the 2021-22 season with the U15 team, Lafreniere had 15 goals and 25 assists in 40 games played.

The 16-year-old was drafted 174th overall in the eighth round of last year’s WHL Prospects draft.

“We would like to welcome Tommy and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” said GM / head coach Shaun Clouston. “We are excited to be a part of Tommy’s development over the coming seasons.”

Lafreniere becomes the seventh player from the 2007-born group to be signed, joining goaltender Logan Edmonstone and defenceman Isa Guram, along with forwards Nathan Behm, Andrew Thomson, Zach Pantelakis and Hudson Closson.
