The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Kamloops Blazers goalie Dylan Ferguson to a professional tryout (PTO).
The 23-year-old spent four seasons with the Blazers from 2015-19, registering a 61-72-10 record throughout 155 regular season games played.
The native of Lantzville, BC was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the seventh round of the 2017 NHL Draft, 194th overall. He was then subsequently traded to the Vegas Golden Knights, and promptly signed a three-year entry level contract with them in 2017.
On November 14, 2017, Ferguson made his NHL debut, in relief of Maxime Legace against the Edmonton Oilers, and he allowed one goal on two shots in 9:14 of playing time.
This past season, Ferguson played for the Henderson Silver Knights of the AHL, posting a respectable 5-4 record with a .907 save percentage in 13 games.
He previously won a Kelly Cup with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL in 2021, with an 8-4 record and one shutout in their playoff run.
Pending a contract out of camp, Ferguson would most likely be assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, as the third-string goalie behind Eric Kallgren and Joseph Woll.
