It was a stellar week for Jordan Keller of the Kamloops Blazers as he earned himself the WHL’s player of the week honour.
The 18-year-old managed four goals and three assists as the Blazers won two of their three games last week.
Keller started last week with a buzzer-beater goal in the first period to tie the game against the Spokane Chiefs.
The Blazers went on to score four more goals afterward as Keller recorded another major and an assist in the win.
Keller kept finding his way onto the scoresheet as the Blazers welcomed the Seattle Thunderbirds to town last Friday.
The forward notched a helper as Kamloops took a 2-0 lead before Keller added a goal later on, but it was not enough as Kamloops fell 5-3.
To end off the week, the Blazers hosted the Vancouver Giants. Keller managed to get an assist on the game-winning goal as Kamloops won 3-2.
Keller has accumulated 13 goals and 24 assists in 38 games with the Blazers after being acquired from the Saskatoon Blades in November.
The last name might be familiar as Keller’s father, Aaron, won two WHL championships and two Memorial Cups with the Blazers in 1994 and ‘95.
The Kamloops Blazers are back in action this Wednesday as they host the Portland Winterhawks at 7 pm.
