The Kamloops native has been playing with the Texas Stars this season, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars.

Through 47 games, the 20-year-old leads the league in scoring, with 24 goals and 57 points in his first season.

The former Kamloops Blazer recently made an appearance at the AHL All-Star Classic in California.

Stankoven was with the Blazers from 2018-19 until this season and notched 97 points in 48 games last season, adding nine more points in four games at the Memorial Cup.

The forward was selected 47th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft and will hit the ice at 5 pm tonight.
