Several members of the Kamloops Long Blades Speed Skating Club were in action over the weekend at competitions in Salmon Arm, Lethbridge and the Netherlands.
At the Autumn Tournament in Groningen, Netherlands, Sylvie Lloyd would finish fifth in the Junior B/ Senior Women division, while Gillian Goud would also end up fifth in the Junior A/B/ Senior Men division.
At the 2022 Bridge Bolt Short Track Meet in Lethbridge, Jared Roberts would win a gold medal in the Youth Male Two category, while Meena Litt would nab a silver in the Youth Female One category.
Also in Lethbridge, Keidis Corrigan recorded six personal best times. Litt, Roberts and Kayleigh Roberts each had five personal bests, while Jacob Beesley would achieve four personal bests.
At the Salmon Arm Ice Breaker Speed Skating meet, Jack and Rory Hewitt recorded five personal best times. Meanwhile, Ashton Loland and Laylah Sadegur posted four personal bests, while Patrick Gu and Hallie Sadegur nabbed three personal bests.
Up next for the Long Blades will be the annual Classic Chill competition on Saturday, Nov. 5 in Kamloops.
