BC Interior basketball fans pay attention; a NCAA Division I team is playing near you soon.
Thompson Rivers University men’s basketball team is slated to play the Boise State Broncos Aug. 3, 2023, in an exhibition game.
The game will take place at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops and will showcase a young ‘Pack team with their three-new roster additions and new head coach Chad Jacobson.
Boise State plays in the Mountain West Conference in the United States and finished last year 24-10. They play in the same conference as the 2023 NCAA March Madness championship runner-up, San Diego State University.
The Broncos have appeared in the past two NCAA March Madness tournaments, most recently as the No. 10 seed, losing in the first round against Northwestern University.
"This not only is a great opportunity for our team to be able to come together in the Summer to train and gain valuable game experience against a high-level opponent, but also a chance for the basketball community to come together and support WolfPack basketball,” said Jacobson.
TRU will use this game as preparation for their upcoming season as they set their sights on returning to the playoffs.
Ticket for the event can be purchased online and prices range based on age.
