The Penticton Vees are set to begin the second round of the BCHL playoffs and they will take on a familiar rival in the form of the Vernon Vipers.
This latest series marks the 25th time since 1966 the two teams have faced each other in the postseason, with both teams having won 12 times.
The most recent battle came in 2017 – a series that needed seven games to decide a winner and saw the Vees come out on top.
Penticton is coming off a sweep of the Prince George Spruce Kings and will look to keep their momentum going.
The Vees won four of five games against the Viper this season, with their only loss coming in the form of a shootout.
Penticton will depend on its power play after going 6/16 in the regular season against Vernon.

The Vees will count on Will Ingemann and Andrew Ness in net, as Ness allowed just three goals on 71 shots in three wins against Vernon.
The Vipers were the last BCHL team to win three consecutive Fred Page Cup titles and now they will attempt to stop the Vees from doing so.
Puck drop is at 7 pm for game one on Friday and game two on Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
