Anna Mollenhauer of the UVic Vikes women’s field hockey team has been named the Sport BC University Athlete of the Year after leading the Vikes to their fourth consecutive national championship and being named U SPORTS player of the year in 2022.
The Victoria native has enjoyed a decorated college career, collecting U SPORTS and Canada West MVP honours on three occasions, four conference championships, three nominations to the All-Canadian team, and distinction as a top 8 academic All-Canadian during her four year career.
Mollenhauer also appeared as a member of the Canada women’s national team at the 2022 World Cup and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
She beat out current Columbus Blue Jackets forward and Port Moody, BC product Kent Johnson, who was the other finalist for the award.
