UPDATE: Missing teenager found safe in northern BC

(UPDATE: June 19 @ 8:40 am) - The 17-year-old boy reported missing in northern BC on Wednesday has been found.

The RCMP says the boy is "safe and sound."

(Original story: June 18 @ 3:05 pm) - Police are searching for a missing teenager in northern BC.

According to the RCMP, the 17-year-old was last seen leaving a retail store in Dawson Creek with an ‘older unidentified woman.”

Although police did not disclose what day that sighting was, they said they were notified about his disappearance on June 8.

The RCMP notes that he “lives a high-risk lifestyle” and there’s concern for his well-being, adding that he may not want to be found.

“Due to his involvement in an unrelated investigation, (the boy) could be avoiding the police,” police explained.
