Body of missing Okanagan man found during underwater vehicle recovery

An Okanagan man missing since the end of January has been located deceased as police in Penticton worked to recover a vehicle from Skaha Lake today.

Penticton RCMP announced on Saturday that the body of 59-year-old Kurtis Robinson had been located and that the cause of his death is not considered suspicious.

“The RCMP offers its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased,” reads a press release.

Robinson was last spoken to on Jan. 31, 2025. A couple of days later, police reached out to the public asking if anyone had seen the 59-year-old or his 2004 Grey Chevrolet Avalanche.

The discovery of Robinson’s body comes as police have been at the north end of Skaha Lake for a vehicle recovery throughout the day.

The Penticton RCMP and members of the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team were working together to complete the operation near Airport Road.

Police have not shared details of the vehicle being pulled out of Skaha Lake.
