Historic Naramata Inn announces indefinite closure

A well-known venue in the South Okanagan has shut its doors after welcoming guests to the region for years.

The Naramata Inn announced earlier this week on social media that as of Jan. 1, 2025, it would be closed for an indefinite period.

“This decision reflects the continued challenging conditions for tourism and hospitality in the Okanagan,” reads the social media post.

“We are deeply grateful to have been part of so many cherished memories and special occasions in one of the most beautiful places in the Okanagan Valley.”

The Naramata Hospitality Limited Partnership (NHLP), which owns the 12-room inn that was constructed in 1908, said it is committed to “the preservation of this important historical property and will be investing to maintain it in excellent condition.”

NHLP took control of the building five years ago and says it has since welcomed almost 100,000 guests.

“We want to express our thanks to the several hundred people who have worked at the inn during that time and to the many local suppliers and partners who have supported the project,” added the post.

“They have created wonderful lifelong memories and experiences of Naramata for so many people.”

The final dinner service at the inn was held on Dec. 30, 2024. Anyone who requires assistance following the closure is asked to email [email protected].
