Bloom Flower Festivals has announced the return of their Sunflower Festival.
From Sept. 21 to Oct. 1, guests will have the opportunity to walk through an eight-acre field of more than 200,000 sunflowers in Spallumcheen.
Over 25 species of sunflowers will be planted in the coming weeks, including solana, florenza, moulin rouge, firecracker and ring of fire.
Not only can sunflower lovers bring their babies to the festival, but dogs are also welcome to attend on leash.
Some of the special events and VIP packages include Sunflowers + Ciders, Locals Nights, Residents Nights, Farmstrong Fridays, Paint Nights, Yoga in the Flowers, and a Wild Oak Café Collab. More information can be found here.
For those wanting to grow their own flowers, Bloom Flower Festivals is selling a variety of bulbs until Sept. 15, and orders will be shipped in the fall.
“As long as you plant varieties that take less than 75 days to bloom, you can plant and enjoy sunflowers at home this fall,” organizers explain. “You just want to make sure to enjoy them before the first frost.”
The Sunflower Festival will be open Thursday to Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm and Sunday to Wednesday from 12 to 7 pm.
