Potential COVID-19 exposure reported at North Okanagan grad party

Interior Health is warning students in Armstrong following a potential COVID-19 exposure.

According to IH, anyone who attended a grad party on Sept. 6 could have been exposed to the virus. Individuals who were at the event are urged to monitor for COVID symptoms.

Contact tracing is now underway. IH is reaching out to anyone who may have been exposed.

"Confirmed cases include a small number of Grade 12 students at Pleasant Valley Secondary School," wrote IH. "Close contacts of those cases have been identified and notified. There is no evidence of transmission in the school setting at this time."

Out of caution, IH has asked that any grade 12 students at PVSS who attended the party and aren't fully vaccinated isolate for 10 days.

"Individuals who had received two doses of vaccine by Aug. 30 can continue to attend school while self-monitoring for symptoms."

Those looking for a test can do so through here.
