Spencer Fernando: Media not interested when Singh is confronted by Sikhs

Spencer Fernando is a writer, commentator, podcast host and former political insider. His career has included spells working for the Conservative Party and Manitoba Progressive Conservatives. He is now a campaign fellow with the National Citizens Coalition. His work can be found here.

Every time it seems the establishment media can’t get more biased and manipulative, they outdo themselves yet again.

Remember when Jagmeet Singh was confronted by many angry Canadians who happened to be white?

The media was all over it.

There was endless coverage of how bad this was for Canada, how it said terrible things about the country, how it was dangerous, how it was right-wing extremism, how it was racism and bigotry, etc. etc.

It served a narrative that the establishment press and Trudeau-Singh pact found useful: Demonize any and all opposition as extremist and racist.

There’s only one problem: It turns out Canadians of all backgrounds are angry at Singh selling out to Trudeau, including many members of the Sikh community.

As I wrote about recently, Singh was confronted by members of the Sikh community at an event, with many people slamming him as a sellout.

[Warning: Strong language]

What’s so interesting is that there was widespread mainstream media coverage when Singh faced an angry crowd that could be smeared as "racist," yet when people in the Sikh community criticize Singh it is almost completely ignored by the media.

This shows that instead of attempting to inform the public and provide people with the facts, the establishment press is trying to manipulate and control the public.

They are seeking to demonize pro-freedom Canadians and call us all "racists" and "bigots," so they are desperate to avoid showing that opposition to the dishonest Trudeau-Singh pact is widespread among Canadians of all possible backgrounds.

Selling out and damaging the country

Canadians of all backgrounds are seeing that Jagmeet Singh and Justin Trudeau are pushing an agenda that is deeply damaging to Canada.

Their denial of rights to unvaccinated Canadians, their massive overspending, debt, and deficits, and their inflationary policies like the carbon tax are all making life more and more expensive and they are making Canada less free.

It’s no wonder that with things as bad as they are that Canadians are speaking out against the Trudeau-Singh pact.

After all, the Trudeau-Singh pact is an incredibly dishonest deal, since they didn’t campaign on it in the 2021 campaign, and since it is being used to shut down accountability and scrutiny in Parliament.

As Canada becomes poorer, less free, and less democratic, the real surprise would be if people weren’t angry and weren’t speaking out against the escalating damage being done to our nation.

Playing the race card is an admission of weakness and incompetence

Increasingly, all Jagmeet Singh has is the race card, and he plays it whenever Canadians speak out against him and against Trudeau.

Meanwhile, Singh feels completely free to demonize those who disagree with him without ever listening to their concerns or considering their point of view.

He has chosen to use a divisive brand of politics, and he can’t complain when those tactics result in Canadians being angry at him, angry at Justin Trudeau, and angry at an increasingly broken and corrupt system.

Canada needs leaders with the strength to address real issues and stand up for freedom, not weak "leaders" like Singh who hide behind the race card.
