Police searching for suspect after 20 headstones vandalized at BC cemetery

Mounties are investigating a heinous crime that took place at a cemetery in northern BC earlier this week.

Staff at Prince George Municipal Cemetery arrived to work on Monday morning to discover that around 20 headstones had been knocked over during the night.

According to police, estimates put the amount of damage from the vandalism between $20,000 and $25,000.

“Unfortunately, there is no surveillance in the cemetery grounds to provide us with insight into who the suspect is or are,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Investigators are asking that anyone who has information on who may have caused this damage to please come forward with the details.”

The probe into the unfortunate incident at the Prince George cemetery is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact the RCMP at 250-561-3300.

You can also submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
