2 dead after fiery rollover crash on BC highway overnight

A rollover crash in the Surrey area well before the sun rose this morning has claimed a pair of lives.

Emergency crews responded to the rollover crash on Hwy 99, between 16 Avenue and 32 Avenue, shortly after 3:30 am today.

When the Surrey RCMP and Surrey Fire Service arrived at the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and both occupants were dead inside.

Investigators are currently working to identify the victims of this fatal crash.

The Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team has assumed conduct of this probe with assistance from the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.

Although it’s in its early stages, the RCMP says investigators are “working to identify all factors” that led to these fatalities.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dash cam footage from the area early this morning is urged to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-559-0502.
