4.0 magnitude earthquake felt this morning on BC’s South Coast 

An earthquake was felt by residents of Victoria and Vancouver this morning.

According to Earthquakes Canada, the quake was “lightly felt” at around 4 am.

A total of 377 people reported feeling the quake as weak, while 85 reported it as light to moderate.

There are no reports of damage, and there’s no tsunami risk.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of around 52 km, about 17 km North East of Victoria.

Earthquakes Canada estimated the magnitude at a 3.8, while US-based organization USGS put it as a 4.0.
