BC Amber Alert: Joshuah and Aurora Bolton have been found safe

Police have cancelled the Amber Alert issued for a pair of British Columbian children after they were located safe Saturday night.

It’s the news everyone had been hoping for since the Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday, July 19, as Joshua Bolton, 10, and Aurora Bolton, 8, have been found safe.

According to Surrey RCMP, the two children were located around 7:20 pm tonight and are in the process of being reunited with their family.

“We recognize that many have been following this investigation closely since the Amber Alert was issued,” said Cpl. Vanessa Munn, Surrey RCMP.

“We sincerely appreciate the assistance from the public, media, community and policing partners, who all played an important role in helping to safely locate the children.”

No further details were released by police tonight, but the RCMP is expected to provide more information on these developments on Sunday.

Joshuah and Aurora were reported missing on Tuesday, July 18, after they were not returned to their father in Surrey after a planned vacation with their mother.

The Amber Alert was issued on Wednesday, July 19.

Initially, police said their last sighting was on June 30 at Krafty Kitchen + Bar in downtown Kelowna on June 30.

However, in the days that followed the Amber Alert being issued, the timeline started to become more clear.

Police eventually determined that the children left the Lower Mainland on June 28 for a planned vacation with their mother, and alleged abductor, Verity Bolton.

They reportedly picked up Verity's father Robert Bolton in Chilliwack on June 30 and it was determined that the group was also travelling with Verity's boyfriend Abraxas Glazov.

On July 7, the children were both spotted on surveillance camera at a gas station in Merritt. Eight days later, on July 15, Verity was caught on camera grocery shopping in Kamloops, but the children were not seen.

It was on July 24 that police eventually went public with the claim that the parental abduction was "pre-planned" and authorities suspected the group had "moved off the grid."

Investigators said that 53-year-old Glazov, Verity's boyfriend, had a history of living off the grid. He was previously reported missing in 2016 while living in Clinton.

The fate and location of Verity Bolton, Robert Bolton and Abraxas Glazov have not been revealed at this time, but that information could be made available on Sunday.

NowMedia will provide updates as they become available.
