A BC nurse has had his registration suspended and handed a reprimand for sexual misconduct
A consent agreement between the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and Joey Mojica of Vancouver was published online last week and details the issues, which happened between April and May 2024.
The College said the incident reportedly involved Mojica “inappropriately touching a colleague's genitals without consent.”
According to the agreement, he reportedly engaged in unwanted communication with the colleague after the incident.
Morjica, who is a registered nurse, has had his registration suspended for four months.
He will also be banned from being the nurse in charge for six months.
During that time he will not be allowed to supervise or orient students or new employees.
The BCCNM also ordered him to take remedial classes in ethos and professionalism.
“BCCNM takes all allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously. BCCNM's professional and ethical practice standards require nurses to treat colleagues, students, and other health care workers in a respectful manner,” the agreement said.
An inquiry committee said it believed those terms will address the concerns that came out of the incident and will protect the public.
