BC teen pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle late Friday night

A fatal motor vehicle incident that happened in Prince George late Friday night is under investigation.

Police say the incident happened in the 3700 block of 15th Avenue, around 11 pm on June 6, when a group of people were gathered in the area together.

“A 19-year-old man who was part of the group was struck by a vehicle driven by another of that group,” an RCMP release explained, not indicating what kind of group it was and why the young adults were in the area.

Unfortunately, the victim later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of the young victim in this difficult time,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Prince George RCMP.

The driver of the vehicle was another teenager, police noted, was a 19-year-old woman who was arrested near the scene for impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

She has since been released with a pending court date, but the RCMP says she’s cooperating with the investigation.

Anyone who has cell phone, video or dash camera footage of the incident is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.
