The small town of Hope, BC has immortalized its connection with one of Hollywood’s most iconic action stars.
A new wooden statue honouring the star of the 1982 blockbuster Rambo: First Blood was recently erected and it has already received a thumbs up from Slyvester Stallone himself.
"I’m very proud that These two massive statues of RAMBO were recently and Permanently placed in the city of HOPE, Canada, exactly where we shot FIRST BLOOD. Thanks to the artist,” said Stallone in an Instagram post.
Carved by Edmonton-based artist Ryan Villers, the six-foot tall statue was carved out of wood using nothing but a chainsaw.
Sitting in town's Memorial Park, the statue is just part of the Rambo experience celebrated by Hope.
Visitors can even embark on a self-guided tour that will take fans to the locations of iconic scenes from the film.
