BC volleyball coach accused of sexually assaulting youth

A man was arrested last week in connection to an ongoing sexual assault investigation in North Vancouver.

The RCMP says the 50-year-old is a local volleyball coach and is accused of sexually assaulting a youth.

Police were first alerted to the allegations against the North Shore man on Dec. 22, 2024, and he was arrested as part of the investigation on April 3, 2025.

"This is an ongoing, complex investigation involving allegations of sexual assaults that occurred over a period of several years,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak.

“The top priority for investigators is to speak with anyone with information that has not yet come forward, to gather all available evidence and to support those impacted throughout this process.”

The suspect has since been released with a number of conditions and a future court date, pending further investigation and charge approval.

Part of the investigative efforts at this time is to identify any other potential victims in this case.

Anyone with information, or who wishes to report, is urged to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 236-481-9100.
