Police have identified the body that was discovered on Hwy 1 near Boston Bar early Wednesday morning.
The body of Alicia Hatarina Berg, 29, was spotted by a passing motorists around 4:20 am on Wednesday, June 3, three kilometres east of the Yale Tunnel.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says her injuries are suspicious and is now calling on the public to assist the investigation.
Investigators are hoping anyone travelling between Hope and Boston Bar between midnight and 5 am on Wednesday who may have dash cam footage will come forward.
Anyone who saw someone matching Alicia’s description is urged to contact IHIT immediately as well.
Berg’s described as a Caucasian woman who’s 5’6”, 140 lbs with green hair.
At the time, she was wearing a grey hoodie, grey and black sweatpants and sandals.
“In these early stages of the investigation, we have learned that Alicia led a transient lifestyle in the Fraser Valley area,” says Sgt. Frank Jang of IHIT.
“There remain many yet unanswered questions surrounding Alicia’s death and we are appealing to anyone who knew her to come forward.”
