The search for a Chilliwack mother of two who was missing since late January has come to a tragic end.
The RCMP confirmed late last week that the body of 23-year-old Shaelene Keeler Bell was pulled from the Fraser River near Coquitlam on Wednesday, June 2.
It was just over four months after Bell was reported missing to the Chilliwack RCMP on Jan. 31.
“The woman’s family has been notified and has asked for privacy as they grieve,” explained an RCMP release.
A police investigation into her death has now concluded, as the RCMP says “there is no evidence to support criminal involvement in this death.”
However, the BC Coroners Service is now conducting its own fact-finding investigation into Bell’s untimely death.
Her family confirmed the news as well through a Facebook group dedicated to the search for Bell over the past four months.
“It is with broken hearts that we share the news that Shaelene Keeler Bell has been found in Port Coquitlam,” said the post.
“We cannot express how deeply touched we are about how the community has come together to help, share and support our family through these terrible times.”
A GoFundMe that was set up to aid the search for Bell and support her two young boys has raised nearly $15,000.
