The accused Shane William Caron, a 35-year-old Kamloops man, has been charged in relation to the incident.
"This was an event that shook our whole city. Many people were adversely affected by this incident,” says Sgt Simon Pillay. “However, the community support through this operation has been overwhelmingly positive and the RCMP is very appreciative.”
“This community was very helpful to the police and graciously brought refreshments and even homemade food to the RCMP members posted there around the clock. Gestures like that really make a difference to morale and for that we sincerely thank you,” Pillay adds.
He faces four charges of attempted murder in relation to shooting at Kamloops RCMP members:
These charges are in addition to the charges Shane William Caron was previously facing, which are also currently before the courts.
RCMP have finished processing the scene at the G&M Trailer Park. RCMP say they expect that further charges will be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
