Climate activists vandalize Woolly Mammoth at Royal BC Museum with pink paint

Three people have been arrested after they spread pink paint on the Woolly Mammoth at the Royal BC Museum.

The group “On2Ottawa” posted a video of one activist named Laura in front of the mammoth after the paint was applied.

“If the government does not enact the citizen’s assembly to tackle the climate and ecological crisis in the next one to two years, then we will be travelling to Ottawa to demand one,” Laura says in the video.

On2Ottawa appears to be a new campaign demanding climate justice.

Police said they were called to the museum just before 11:15 am, and took three people into custody.

Other visitors, including children and families were present in the gallery at the time of the incident.
