GoFundMe set up for family of freestyle skier Brayden Kuroda

A GoFundMe campaign has been created for the family of Brayden Kuroda.

The 19-year-old freestyle mogul skier from Penticton died suddenly on Monday night from an undisclosed cause.

Freestyle Canada confirmed Kuroda’s death in a news release, remembering the young man as “effervescent, bright and talented” and calling his death an “immeasurable loss” for the skiing community and beyond.

With a goal of raising $10,000, the GoFundMe will go directly to Brayden’s family to help cover any necessary costs associated with his passing.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the page had raised over $2,500.

On Wednesday, Brayden’s home ski hill of Apex Mountain announced it will host a memorial run to honour the two time BC Games gold medalist on Saturday, Feb. 22.

Called a “Run for Brayden” skiers and boarders are invited to the top of Apex’s mogul course at 1:30 pm.
