Dogs may be a man’s best friend, but they’re apparently a woman’s “good luck charm” as well.
That’s what Irene Sommerfeldt said after winning a whopping $728,890.49 playing the MegaJackpots Wolf Run online slots game on PlayNow.com.
The Richmond resident chose the game because her lucky pup was at her side and was aiming for a peaceful break by playing the game, but then she hit the jackpot.
“I wasn’t sure if it was real at first,” Sommerfeldt said. “Then I got a phone call and realized it was!”
After her life-changing win was confirmed by BCLC, Sommerfeldt told her partner and her sister, who shared her disbelief and happy tears.
She called the win “exciting” and added that “it provides ease of mind,” allowing her to relax a little more.
Of course, an early retirement is now in her mind, as is a move closer to family, but in the meantime she’s looking at a trip to California to enjoy the west coast and soothing ocean air.
